Genting Highlands during Super Peak Season
The whole month of December 2006 was tagged "super peak" in Genting Highlands' seasonal chart; yet, my gf and I was there last week haha. No choice la, I made last minute decision to take a short local vacation, but hotels everywhere were fully booked. Tried Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa but failed, inquired Colmar Tropicale Bukit Tinggi but without luck as well.
Being honored as the only place in Malaysia with legal casino, Uncle Lim's Genting is always crowded during school holidays and public holidays. Personally, casino is nothing attractive to me; the only reason that makes me revisit Genting Highlands, is the cooling environment. Aaaaahi~~ in a hot and humid country like Malaysia, Genting with 18 degrees Celsius is good enough lo.
I wasn't there for Christmas, neither was I there for New Year Eve. I'm never a fan of countdown crowd hehe. So I went there in between Christmas and New Year Eve.
OK. Enough of introduction, let's have a pictorial walkthrough.

The Genting Skyway ride is more expensive than 35-minute bus journey. The bus ride from Plaza Rakyat Pudu Raya to Gothong Jaya costs only RM3.50/person, but the 15-minute Genting Skyway ride costs RM4.00 from Gothong Jaya to the top. Maybe we're paying for the splendid view of greenery ;)

First World Hotel, the world's largest hotel with 6118 rooms. Without First World Hotel, accommodations at Genting Highlands are not really affordable for teenagers and students.

Damn it, even the budget hotel also taking advantage of golden opportunity to "chop vegetable's head" (layman slang to describe over-price). The receptionists said there was no room available at all, but the management of First World Hotel put up this notice to sell preserved units at the rate of RM181 onwards. IMHO, it doesn't worth paying RM181 per night for First World Hotel :)

Christmas decorations at the lobby of First World Hotel.

Model of Uncle Lim's empire.

Statue of Liberty imported to First World Plaza.

The statue is brought alive to vroom in First World Plaza!

The ghostly ticketing counter of Pontianak Adventure at Ripley's Believe It or Not.

Out of so many cafés in Genting Highlands, personally I find the Starbucks in First World Plaza the best place to take a sip. It has comfortable sofa seats and picturesque surroundings. Everytime when I'm at Genting Highlands, I will surely visit this Starbucks café.
This time, my gf ordered Cappuccino, while I ordered Toffee Nut Latte.

Mobile phone battery charger booth like this is seen everywhere in Genting Highlands. It provides FREE connectivity for you to power up your low-juice mobile phone. Chargers of various common manufacturers are available. But you have to stand there guarding your phone throughout the charge.

If you're courting a girl, bring her to walk through this Lover Bridge together with you. Then, you'll be blessed with higher success rate by the cupid. Best is to propose to her at this bridge, guaranteed probability of success hahaha. Sorry, don't take it seriously if you do, all these magical beliefs are made up by me :p

More photos of First World Plaza to satisfy your viewing pleasure.
OK, not just giving "stage show" for First World Hotel and plaza, I shall give some exposures for other places at Genting Highlands as well hehe.

I have previously stayed in Theme Park Hotel valley wing for twice, hence quite familiar with the surrounding, including the small garden at the back and the staff's canteen *winks*

During my visit, the garden behind Them Park Hotel was quite disappointing, as there weren't much attractive floras to catch my photography interest, except these purple buds.

The soothing valley view from Theme Park Hotel garden.

The grand interior design of Genting Hotel. Genting Hotel's interior design is themed around elephants. Is it a feng shui factor? ;)

Based on my personal experience, the external compound of Genting Hotel and Highlands Hotel is one of the coldest and strongest wind spots at Genting Highlands. Usually, this is the mistiest place as well. The exterior of Genting Hotel only looks better at night, when complemented with lighting. But, on my visit, the night was covered with thick mist and greatly degraded the visibility.

For unknown reason, I like to see plants and flowers since I was a kid. And now, I like to photograph close-up shot of flowers as well hehe. I was glad to see various types of flowers with vibrant colors planted at the garden in front of Genting Hotel.

Finally, Highlands Hotel, the one with most expensive rate at Genting Highlands. The interior of Highlands Hotel is decorated with a number of nice and artistically designed bronze-made statues of Rome influence.
Now I wonder why I didn't take any picture of Resort Hotel haha.
All right, that's all for this post. You've just read a post with 39 photos hahaha. I hope you're not experiencing crappy Internet connection now, or else loading these photos from Flickr gonna be a painful experience.

Nice photos, nice and cute couple what else could I say.
Looks like an enjoyable trip there. Wow, Uncle Lim's place surely had changed a lot since the last time I was there - so, you go figure how long I have not been to Genting. LOL - I am waaaaayyy... behind.
