Uniquely Singapore
As informed earlier, I was off to Singapore from 8th June to 11th June of 2006 for vacation. My mum, younger brother, girlfriend and I were there in the trip. For your information, I was in Penang the past weekend for food hunt.
It has been a year since the previous time I visited Singapore in May 2005.
This time, I visited at the MYR-SGD currency conversion of 2.31, a bit too high for transportation fares and meals hehe.
8th June
We arrived at the arrival hall of Singapore immigration checkpoint by Delima Express at 12.30PM. The flow was smooth.
My mother side uncle fetched us to his house in Woodlands Circle. This is the residential place where we settled down for accommodation. The place is within 15 minutes of walking distance from the Admiralty MRT Station. Bus services are also available at frequent interval (much more frequent than what we have in residential areas of Kuala Lumpur).
We didn’t go any place in the first day, except the nearby Causeway Point. Most of the time was spent playing with my very adorable little cousin. She’s not only cute and adorable, but pretty, intelligent, and a fast learner. Most important, she doesn’t irritatingly cry easily for nothing. All and all, she has tons of reasons for you to love her, ‘cos it’s hard to find those loving traits in other 15-month baby.
9th June

I call this a day for shopping. For your information, the Great Singapore Sales (GSS) is currently going on. Personally, the GSS appeals better to me than the Shopping Carnival in Malaysia. When it comes to GSS, the shopping outlets are really doing their collaborative jobs to have a thorough store-wide discount. Some of the items are cheaper than the equivalent ones in Malaysia, even after SGD – MYR conversion.

We started our hunt at Bugis. Of all the places in Singapore, Bugis is one of my favorite towns. My records shown that, I’ve yet to leave out Bugis for any of my visit to Singapore. I like the shopping environment at Bugis Junction and the items sold at Seiyu of Bugis; my mum likes the wide-range of selections of Japanese mushrooms available at Bugis market; and Sim Lim Square the Singapore version of Low Yat is easily reachable within walking distance as well. To people looking for crystals, Fu Lu Shou is also there for your bargain.
I didn’t really buy anything, but my girlfriend and brother do. I went to Sim Lim Square looking for the Holux GPSlim 236 SiRFStar III GPS Bluetooth Receiver, but was told that it is currently out-of-stock.

We spent our day in Bugis till evening 6.30PM, and headed to Orchard Road. The Orchard Road is famous for its annual Christmas and New Year lighting decorations. The trails of Germany 2006 World Cup fever were significantly spotted at some road shows held at Orchard Road.
My day didn’t come to a rest right after the shopping at Orchard Road. Once we got back to Woodlands Circle, my girlfriend and I were rushing to her sister’s house located at Jurong East, to stay for a night.
By the time I’ve reached Jurong East, I started to experience tiring muscles on my legs.
10th June

9th June was the day for shopping, and 10th June was the day for zoological experience. Yes, my girlfriend and I went to the Singapore Zoo. A lucky day to our wallet, that my girlfriend’s sister has free passes for us haha.
We traveled to Choa Chu Kang MRT station, and took a bus numbered 927 to Singapore Zoo at Mandai Lake Road.
A lot people have given great and satisfying testimonials to Singapore Zoo, needless to mention tons of positive recommendations I’ve got. To my expectation, yes I do definitely agree that the Singapore Zoo is a place worth your visit to spend a good day. You really get what you’ve paid. Two thumbs up.
The environment created and made for the animals are very well designed and maintained. Interesting fact sheets about each animal are also very well laid out to offer you and family an educational trip. Proper facilities are available for you and even your babies to have a comfortable rest in designated stops equipped with air-conditioners. For animals that have their activities going-on both at land and in the water, such as otters, polar bear and crocodiles, a room built to observe them via aquarium glasses is also available. All the animal shows scheduled are also delivered at excellently, complemented with good speakers. To my surprise, the Zoo Singapore surroundings are also generally resistant from the animal odors and scents.

After coming out from the zoo, it was about 4PM. We headed to West Mall at Bukit Batok and IMM at Jurong East for a quick visit, before we went back to my girlfriend’s sister’s house.
Courtesy of her sister, and we got a free yummy dinner at Mayim Restaurant in the West Mall.
11th June
The day we came back to Malaysia. Again, my uncle offered us a ride to Larkin Bus Terminal of Johor Bahru (JB). At 10AM, the cars were start piling up at the causeway, and the jam took us an hour.
I didn't aware that 12th June is the opening of schools in Malaysia. Thus, tickets for JB to KL were sold off by the well-known VIP seats operators. Ended up I was taking Causeway Link with ordinary twining seats.
